Too Long Didn’t Read: We won our very first Pro Et Championship at Bandimere Speedway!! I have the absolute best support group and I couldn’t do it without them. Chantelle proves she is a badasss by taking 4th in the sportsman points improving on her 10th place finish last year. Most importantly Captain Kyle aka the one eyed bandit is 2 and 1 in competition with a .018 RT average.

Well it is one week removed from the high altitude bracket nationals and I am so proud to say that I am the 2023 Pro Et Champion!!! It was a very tough season and the last race was no different!!! We made it to the 6th round (final round before curfew) on Friday night where the truck went rogue and slowed up a few hundredths for the loss. On Saturday morning we were rolling through the silver nugget before we lost the fuel pump at 330 in the 3rd round. My dad and I rushed to get the truck done for the Saturday gamblers where I gave the stripe back by .005 to the always tough Ernest Raile in round 3!
We found out that we have been going through fuel pumps because one of the fuel hoses went bad on the truck and was clogging the pre filter before the pump. I put an ABP out on some fuel hose and got a bunch of response but ultimately Lane Ingo had some fuel line on-site that would work.
Unfortunately while I was coming back from watching Chany a rock flew off of a car and landed in my left eye. I was in so much pain I couldn’t open either of my eyes. I rinsed my eyes as much as possible but couldn’t get any relief so I headed home. My dad and Steven stayed up late to finish installing the new fuel line. I can’t thank them enough for doing this despite the long day we already had and the very important day ahead of us!
Sunday morning the biggest day in terms of points series roles around and I find myself in the urgent care. The doctor said I had some very large cuts on my eye but that I would be okay. He gave me some antibiotics and told me to keep the eye shut. My dad got the truck ready and even made my one and only time trial to make sure I had every chance I could to win the three rounds I needed to win to lock the points lead up. With my left eye bandaged up I rolled down next to a very tough Nate Larson first round. Despite the nerves I let go .004 and Nate turned it red .003. This was a very big win and even bigger relief. Second round I was .029 to take the win against David Carl and the always tough Scott unfortunately turned on the red light handing me the Pro Et Championship!!! At this point, likely riding on adrenaline, I was feeling good and decided to stage for round three where my .024 total was not good enough to beat my opponents .016 total.
Although my name will be the only one official contributed to this championship there are so many people that made this happen. From my mom and Chantelle taking care of me all season and especially this weekend while they were racing to my dad always giving me the absolute best chance at winning everytime I go down the track. I also can’t forget all of my friends who help me day in and day out and the rest of the racing community who I can always count on when I need anything! Special shout out to Carol Crooks for her racetrack eye care and expertise!
This will always be a very memorable year and I am so thankful to have the opportunity to drive the old overthrow easy money s10 down the track every year!!!
